Full-size remote, small receiver
Two parts decide whether a remote kit suits your fan: the transmitter in your hand, and the receiver that has to fit above the fan. This kit keeps the remote full size — the shape of a small TV remote, so the buttons are where you expect them — and shrinks only the receiver.
The receiver is 2.8 × 2.15 × 1 in at its longest edges, which is the part that matters when the canopy above your fan is already full of wiring. It wires in between the house supply and the fan, so nothing has to be run through the wall, and the transmitter pairs to it by matching four DIP switches.
The mini size describes the receiver. The handheld remote is a normal, full-size remote.

What it works with, and what it does not

Works with
- 110–120 V, 3-speed AC ceiling fans with a pull-chain or wall-switch motor.
- Canopies with limited room. The receiver is 2.8 × 2.15 × 1 in.
- Dimmable LED and CFL lamps, and incandescent or halogen on the light circuit.
- Existing pull chains that you want to convert to remote control.
Does not work with
- DC motor ceiling fans. They use a different controller.
- Non-dimmable LED and CFL lamps. They switch on and off, but will not dim.
- Reverse / direction control. Where your fan has a reverse switch on the housing, you keep using it.
- 230 V supplies. This kit is for 110–120 V, 60 Hz.
